The Maestro BAL is a bush fire-rated (AS3959-2009 up to BAL-40) mechanical roof-mounted ventilator with a capacity of 596 m3/hr. The high-quality aluminium-based ventilator provides four speed settings (automatic, low, medium, and high) to manage excess heat and moisture in the roof space, providing a more comfortable and healthier home while complying with the ventilator requirements for a bush fire area.
This fan can be installed on a metal or tiled roof as the dektite provided is a malleable flashing.
The Maestro BAL bushfire-rated roof ventilator has an aluminium dome and housing with a built-in spark guard mesh and frame, which makes the fan suitable for installation in bushfire-prone areas. The fan has a high-quality Electronic Commutating (EC) motor with a transformer. You can select low, medium, or high speed with the transformer. There is also an ‘auto’ function. The cable provided by the transformer is approximately 1.8m in length. If you have an available power point that can be reached, then no electrician is required. If a power point is unavailable, an electrician must install one.
How the Automatic Function Works
The variable speed response is relative to ambient temperature and humidity in the area where the speed controller is located. The fan starts at LO speed when the temperature reaches 30°C and then ramps up to HI speed at 45°C. For humidity, the fans will start at LO speed when humidity reaches 65%rH and increase in speed until MED speed reaches 80%rH.
