Wall Fan – How To Choose A Wall Exhaust Fan
Wall fans are popular for all domestic applications (bathroom, kitchens, laundry areas), particularly where ceiling/roof space is limited. The wall fan motor is either positioned inside the room, or on the outside wall (both are typically ducted), providing both a suitable exhaust capacity with an aesthetically pleasing appearance. There are a few factors to keep in mind when choosing a wall exhaust fan:
Calculating the area of the room you wish to install the wall fan (Length x Width x Height). Then multiply this number by the number of air changes required (approximately 10 for a standalone toilet and 15 for a shower). This will give you the approximate capacity (or airflow) required to ventilate the room. If it is replacing an existing wall fan, what hole cut-out size does it need to fit?
